Margaret L. “Peg” Schnell, 87, of Fairview went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, July 17, 2021, at the Chicora Medical Center.

Margaret was born in Fairview on Aug. 31, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Paul T. and Florence McGarvey Daubenspeck.

She was a graduate of Fairview Township, Karns City High School. Peg was a woman of faith and was an active member of the Martinsburg Church of Bruin and a former member of St. Peter's Reformed Church of Fairview. Peg had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in special music as soloist and also duets. Peg was a homemaker and enjoyed bird-watching, gardening, baking and garage sales.

Mrs. Schnell is survived by her husband, Dean R. Schnell, whom she married in Fairview on Sept. 18, 1954. Also surviving are three children, Karen D. Fair and her husband, Ken, of Butler, Mike Schnell and his wife, Tracy, of Prospect, and Darla J. Peters and her husband, David, of Butler; six grandchildren, Abby Fair, Molly Fair, Hope Schnell, Jaylee Lassinger, Brooke Lassinger and Nash Peters; two brothers, Darrell W. Daubenspeck of Boyers and Carl Daubenspeck and his wife, Jeanie, of North Washington; and two sisters, Wilma Schnell and her husband, Ralph, of North Washington and Sandra Howells and her husband, Bruce, of North Chesterfield, Va.; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Paul Daubenspeck Jr.; and a sister, Faye Wulff.

Schnell — Friends of Margaret L. “Peg” Schnell, who died Saturday, July 17, 2021, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.

A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Thompson, her church pastor, and the Rev. Dennis Barger, longtime family friend, officiating.

Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
