Frances Meyer
Frances D. Meyer, 88, of Petrolia, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Chicora Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Butler, the daughter of Duane M. and Frances (Kingsley) Davis.
Frances was raised in Eau Claire but lived most of her life in Chevy Chase, Md. She moved to Petrolia in 2003 and called the area her home ever since. Frances first worked as a secretary and then stayed home to care for her family. Later, while living in Maryland, she volunteered at a local thrift store. Frances was a member of Fairview United Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Researching genealogy, working on puzzles, writing and listening to music were her favorite hobbies. Frances will be best remembered as a wonderful mom and for being a very patient, caring and kind person.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Kathryn Partan and husband, Andrew, of Takoma Park, Md., and Margaret M. Bassett and husband, Gordon, of Petrolia; grandchildren, Elizabeth Partan, Rebecca Partan, Celeste Partan and James Bassett; brother, Walter K. Davis, and wife, Elizabeth, of Elkhart, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Thomas H. Meyer, who died Dec. 25, 2001; and sisters, Patricia Davis and Shirley Davis.
Meyer — A memorial service for Frances D. Meyer, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia, with Pastor Joe Olkowski, officiating.
Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
