Ellen M. Burk, 95, of Mars, formerly of Middlesex Township, passed away Sunday morning, July 18, 2021, in the comfort of her home.

Born in Germany on Nov. 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Frieda Schwartz.

Ellen had been the cafeteria manager for the Pine-Richland School District and later worked as a private cook for Fosnight Retirement Home in Hampton Township.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Burk, whom she married on Feb. 17, 1945, and who died on Aug. 20, 2004, and by a stepsister.

Surviving are her daughters, Frieda G. Kleinhample of Middlesex Township, Georgette E. Conroy of McCandless Township and Eileen L. Pritchett in Ohio; her sons, Richard M. Burk (Beth) in North Carolina and Gary T. Burk (Sally) in Tennessee; and by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Burk — Friends of Ellen M. Burk, who died Sunday, July 18, 2021, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
