Charles Burger
Charles W. Burger, 70, formerly of San Jose, Calif., then of Butler, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsburgh, on Nov. 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Henry A. Burger and Ruth M. (Schmidt) Burger.
A graduate of Shaler High School (1968) and Grove City College, he was employed by IBM in tech support, primarily in San Jose until his retirement. Charlie enjoyed bowling and once bowled an 801 series. When younger, he played softball on championship teams with his brother, John. An avid fan, he rooted for the Pittsburgh sports teams wherever he was located. He was a good and loyal friend to many, especially Richard Hacking and Jeff Shad.
He is survived by his brother, John H. (Susan) Burger of Butler; son, Ryan L. (Nicki) Burger; daughter, Taressa D. (Daniel Lench) Ranson; grandchildren, Phoenix and Makayla Burger, and Elliot, Oliver and Addison Ranson, all of Tomball, Texas; and five nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Joan Burger.
Burger — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Charles W. Burger, who died Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Interment will be at Mt. Royal Cemetery Mausoleum.
