Butler Area students to get free breakfast, lunch packages
Butler Area School District students will receive breakfast and lunch packages for free this school year due to a program issued through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
A news release on the district's website said all students are eligible for a free nutritional breakfast and lunch each school day.
However, a la cart items will still be for sale, and students will be able to make purchases as long as their lunch account is in good standing.
The BASD still encourages parents to apply for “free/reduced status,” which has additional benefits for eligible children.
Parents can complete a Free and Reduced application for possible access to available supports. This can be found online at www.basdk12.org/Content2/1472.
