Freedom Road in Cranberry Township will close from Aug. 13 at 10 p.m. to Aug. 16 at 6 a.m. to replace the structure that carries the road over the turnpike with a two-span, six-lane steel structure with a shared-use path on either side.

The project also includes widening, paving, drainage, traffic signal upgrades or replacements, lights updates and other work.

Traffic on Route 19 north should detour to Cranberry Square Drive and to Executive Drive. Traffic on Route 228 and westbound traffic on Freedom Road should detour to Route 19 north to Cranberry Square Drive and to Executive Drive.

Route 19 southbound traffic should detour to Thorn Hill Road, Commonwealth Drive and then back to Freedom Road. Eastbound Freedom Road traffic should detour to Commonwealth Drive, Thorn Hill Road and to Route 19.

The rain date is Aug. 20 to 23.
