SV district wins 17 awards for communications work

Seneca Valley School District received 17 awards from two organizations for its communications work.

Among the awards are 12 from the National School Public Relations Association's 2021 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards Contest, along with five from the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association's 2020 Excellence in Education Communications Contest.

From the national organization, the Seneca Valley communications department received seven Awards of Excellence, the organization's highest recognition, for its “Imagining the Future” annual report; its e-newsletter; the “Above and Beyond” activities and information calendar; its welcome back message; its “Voices” podcast; its #SVTogether social media campaign; and its Class of 2020 edition special purpose publication.

Rounding out the dozen national awards were five awards of merit for its 2020-21 return-to-school graphic and four videos.

In Pennsylvania, Seneca Valley received one Award of Excellence — its “Transformation by Design” annual report — along with three Awards of Honor for its e-newsletter, podcast and social media page, and an award of merit for its COVID-19 web page.

The national organization, which confers awards for excellent publications and marketing or informational materials, recognized 824 entries this year.
