Rose Brough

Rose M. Brough, 100, of Butler, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Butler on Jan. 28, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Louise DeFoggi Acquaviva.

She was a homemaker. She formerly worked at the Butler Public Library and the Butler City Building and as a lunch monitor at Center Township School.

Rose was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She belonged to 55 & Alive at St. Michael’s.

She was a fan of the lottery and bingo.

Rose is survived by one son, John R. Brough Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Butler; two daughters, Aloise Pupkiewicz, of Parma, Ohio, and Marguerite Black and her husband, Rick, of Butler; one sister-in-law, Mary Acquaviva, of Butler; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. “Bob” Brough Sr., whom she married Feb. 28, 1949, and who passed away June 1, 1974; six brothers; two sisters; and one son-in-law, Glenn Pupkiewicz.

Brough — Friends of Rose M. Brough, who died Saturday, June 5, 2021, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, at Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with Rev. Kevin C. Fazio, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
