Clouds move across a wheat field in Penn Township Friday afternoon.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will are possible this afternoon for Butler County and the surrounding area, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

This occurs as "stubborn low pressure struggles to move eastward," the service said Friday in a tweet.

Due to strong cold advection aloft, the freezing level is much lower today, which could result in pea-sized hail in any possible thunderstorms.

"Enjoy these pleasant temperatures while you can because the heat returns Sunday as winds shift from the south," the service said in another tweet.
