PennDOT worker hit by truck

A PennDOT worker was flown by helicopter to UPMC Passavant Hospital Cranberry around 1 p.m. Tuesday after being struck by a PennDOT truck that was backing up at a tarring and chipping work site near 2225 Oneida Valley Road, according to the North Washington Fire Department.

The extent of the worker’s injuries was not immediately known.

State police, the North Washington Fire Department and Karns City Regional Ambulance responded to the incident.

Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Enscoe said the road was shut down for around 15 minutes while the injured worker was moved, and the helicopter landed close to the rodeo grounds on Route 38.
