James Sines

James “Jim” Kenneth Sines passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at his home in Stillwater, Okla. He was 75.

Jim was born Jan. 8, 1946, in Kingwood, W.Va., to Daily Dayton and Dollie (Sage) Sines.

He grew up in Royal Retreat, Va., and graduated from Sugar Grove High School in 1964.

He continued his education at Virginia Southern College and graduated in 1969. He later moved to Pittsburgh, and worked many years in sales with FYDA Freightliner Trucking, where he retired in 2014.

He and Sandra Howell were married on May 25, 2015, in Jonestown, Texas, and made their home in Stillwater. Jim volunteered as a mediator at the Payne County Court House in more recent years.

He enjoyed traveling the country, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim was very civic minded, always looking for an opportunity to extend a hand where needed.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater, and also a 32nd degree Mason. Jim loved living in Stillwater, and had many friends in the community.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, at home; his children, Lynda Hart and her husband, Lee, of Sante Fe, Texas, John Sines and his wife, Diane, of Austin, Texas, Nancy Coldicott and her husband, Peter, of Jonestown, Texas, and Walter Howell and his wife, Kimberly, of Stillwater, Okla.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel Hart, Abbigayle Hart, Harrison Sines, Maxwell Sines, Leah Coldicott, Katelyn Coldicott, Grace Coldicott, Jackson Howell and Grace Howell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Jane Horne.

SINES — Visitation for James “Jim” Kenneth Sines, who died Monday, May 24, 2021, will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2021, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Okla.

A Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father O’Brien officiating. His Masonic brothers will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Mother Teresa fund for the poor and needy at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater, Okla.
