Family practice celebrates 20-year anniversary

Schogel and Fardo Family Medicine in Cranberry Township is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

“We want to express our thanks to our patients and staff for their support that has led to our success,” Dr. Barbara Fardo and Dr. Karen Schogel said in a statement. “Our entire staff works as a team to provide quality based preventative services through chronic disease management and acute illness intervention.”

The Schogel and Fardo Family Medicine Practice is one of 11 offices in the Genesis Medical Associates group of primary care physicians, a group that stretches from Cranberry Township to Reserve Township in Allegheny County. The Family Medicine primary care office in Cranberry combines the practices of Family and Internal Medicine to provide comprehensive care for patients ages 6 through 106.

Both Dr. Schogel and Dr. Fardo were named “Top Doctors” by Pittsburgh Magazine this year, Schogel as a specialist in internal medicine and Fardo as a specialist in family medicine.

Fardo, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, is board certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. Schogel served as chief medical information officer for Genesis Medical Associates, and as a board member of UPMC Passavant Hospital. She is also a past president of Medical Staff at UPMC Passavant in McCandless.
