Concordia slates Summer Festival

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will hold its 140th Annual Summer 5Festival from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. July 25 in the Lund Care Center backyard, 134 Marwood Road.

All are invited to relive the sounds of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s with The Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band, the featured entertainment from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on stage in the big tent.

A fishing derby for children 12 and under will highlight children’s activities beginning at 12:30 p.m., and there will be free crafts and games to keep the children busy all day at the gazebo on campus.

Kids also are entitled to a free drink and food item such burgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders, in the Quick Tent,.

An open house will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Haven I, 112 Marwood Road. A car cruise will be from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Lund backyard. The 4 p.m. worship service will be led by the Rev. Jack Hartman, Concordia director of chaplaincy services.

Concordia’s chef has created a tasty menu featuring popular summer picnic entrees for sale. The Quick Tent will offer burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and grilled chicken breast sandwiches.
