Floyd J. Taylor
Floyd J. “Buck” Taylor, 94, of Butler, passed away on May 25, 2021, at the Lowrie Place.
He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Butler, and was the son of the late James Earl Taylor and the late Elizabeth Reott Taylor.
Floyd was owner and operator for 30 years of Kenemuth Garage in Butler.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he received several awards: U.S. Navy Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the Victory Medal.Floyd was a life-member of the Moose Lodge 64 and the Moose Legion, the VFW Post 249, the American Legion Post 117, and the Elks Lodge 170. He also was a social member of the SOL Club, served on the Butler Boat Club Board for eight years, the first Butler High School Vo-Tech Advisory Board (mechanic) for four years, and was vice president of the Butler High School Band Parent Organization for four years.He enjoyed boating, auto auctions and snowmobiles.Floyd was a life-member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.He is survived by one son, Earl J. (Christine) Taylor of Butler; one grandson, Joshua J. (Sarah) Taylor of Butler; and one sister, Hazel Kurtz of Weeki Wachi, Fla.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian L. Brown Taylor, whom he married on Oct. 7, 1950, and who passed away on Aug. 31, 1998; two brothers, Earl V. Taylor and Robert A. Taylor; one sister, June Chapin; and longtime companion, Lucille Milich.
TAYLOR — A Mass of Christian burial for Floyd J. “Buck” Taylor, who died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
