New garage door needed for city's streets department
Butler City Council met in the city offices Thursday evening, marking its first in-person meeting in more than a year.
In the meeting, the council approved a motion to purchase and install a new garage door for the streets department at a cost of $2,850.
Butler Mayor Ben Smith said at the meeting's conclusion that the old garage door on the property no longer works.
“It is no longer operational,” he said. “This isn't just a beautification project; it's an essential project.”
The council also approved the sale of a tractor that belonged to the city parks department. The tractor was sold at a bid of $4,600.
The council also promoted a public announcement for its ongoing education plan.
Smith reminded local residents to properly store pool and spa chemicals to prevent leaks and spills.
