Crews battle fire on Saxonburg Road
A detached garage at 965 Saxonburg Road went up in flames Thursday afternoon.
Chief Christopher Dean of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company said there were no injuries caused by the fire.
He said the garage, which contained firearms and ammunition, was engulfed by flames when he arrived on scene, but the fire companies were able to contain it relatively quickly.
The garage was substantially damaged. Its roof caved in, and some walls were collapsing.
The house at the address went undamaged.
The cause of the fire is still unconfirmed, according to the chief.
In addition to Saxonburg VFC and Saxonburg Ambulance, Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and Herman Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene.
