Effie R. Cirillo, 91, of Butler went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Nov. 18, 1929, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Diebold Thompson.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren, and going on beach vacations with her family. She shared her heritage and love by making the most wonderful Syrian food, and teaching the next generation her favorite recipes.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Effie is survived by three children, Joanne Driscoll of Twinsburg, Ohio, John Cirillo Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Cranberry Township, and Mary Cotton and her husband, Chris, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Samantha Cirillo, Alayna Link and her husband, Chet, Emily Herschl and her husband, Kai, Christopher Cotton and his wife, Natalie, Alexandra Cirillo, Michael Herschl, and Seth Cotton; three great-grandchildren, Payten Ewing, Brynlee Link and Wyatt Link; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Cirillo Sr.; one son, Steven D. Cirillo; and seven siblings.

CIRILLO — Funeral services for Effie R. Cirillo, who died Sunday, May 16, 2021, were a private family celebration of her life.

Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery, Butler.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
