John J. Koprivnikar

John J. Koprivnikar, 90, of Grove City, passed peacefully on Monday morning, May 17, 2021, in Grove Manor following an extended illness.

John was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Grove City, to John and Elsie Sophia (Ludwig) Koprivnikar.

He married Evelyn J. Johnston on Nov. 26, 1960, at Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lawrence County.

He was a graduate of Grove City High School Class of 1949.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany, from 1952 to 1954.John had an associate degree from New Castle Business College.He retired from the Social Security Administration in Boyers, where he worked from 1960 to 1995. He was previously employed by Cooper Bessemer.He was a longtime member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee and sang in the choir.John enjoyed his family, woodworking and working on antique cars.He is survived by his wife, Evelyn at home; three children, Kimberly Kresh and her husband, Daniel, of Butler, Karen Pierce and her husband, Barnaby, of Jupiter, Fla., and Thomas Koprivnikar of Grove City; four grandchildren, Jared Hoffman and his wife, Kelsey, Carolyn Timko and her husband, Gregory, Patrick Kresh and Tanner Pierce; and five great-grandchildren.John was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jacob Kresh; and two sisters, Clara P. Koprivnikar and Elsie Marie Duncan.KOPRIVNIKAR — Visitation ours for John J. Koprivnikar, who died Monday, May 17, 2021, are from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at North Liberty Presbyterian Church, 209 N. Liberty-Plaingrove Road, Grove City.A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.Burial will be held at North Liberty Cemetery.Arrangements were handled by Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Memorial contributions can be made to North Liberty Presbyterian Church, 209 N.
