History society receives grant
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission awarded the New Brighton Historical Society in Beaver County a $25,000 grant, according to a news release from Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence).
The release says the historical society determined that a preservation plan will help the organization continue to serve people of the region and preserve local history.
The plan will include comprehensive guidance for short-term and long-term restoration plans for the Irish-Townsend House, which has been in the New Brighton community for over 150 years, according to the historical society’s website.
