Maddox Duran

Maddox Andrew Duran, of Cranberry Township, beloved 3-year-old son of Andrew J. and Samantha D. Diroll Duran, got his angel wings on Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021, in the comfort of his home in his parents’ arms.

Maddox was born with spina bifida in Pittsburgh on Dec. 18, 2017. He endured much in his short life, having 21 surgeries at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was the happiest little guy, always smiling through everything.

He loved his movies, especially “Coco,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “Hercules” and specifically the live action version of “101 Dalmatians.”

His favorite toys were medical supplies, catheters and nose suctions, mouth swabs, mommy’s hair and water bottles.

The family belongs to St. Aidan Parish.

Surviving are his parents, Andrew and Samantha Duran; his sisters, Paisley, age 8, and Juliette, age 5; his maternal grandparents, John and Tracey Diroll of Churchill; his paternal grandmother, Lynn Patterson (Paul) of Wilkins Township; his paternal grandfather, Michael Duran (Jayne) of Forest Hills; and his maternal great-grandmother, Rita Diroll of Swissvale.

He was the nephew of J.P. Diroll (Alyssa) of Valencia, Austin Diroll of Churchill, Michael Duran (Alexa) of Wilkins Township, Meghan Duran of Daytona, Fla., Melanie Marsella (Nick) of Wilkins Township, Paul Patterson (Alicia) of Greensburg, and Jacob Patterson (Starr-Anna) of Verona; and the cousin of Lennox, Nash, Kaylee, Sydney, Sawyer and Scarlett.
