J. Vincent Hanratty

J. Vincent “Vince” Hanratty, 76, of Butler, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, May 8, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Jan. 16, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Vincent A. and Genevieve (Bronder) Hanratty.

Vince had worked as a speech writer in the public relations department for Westinghouse Headquarters in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

He loved to read, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams. He enjoyed the great outdoors, and spent a lot of time at Cook Forest with family and friends.

He took great pride in his grandchildren, and loved attending their sporting events and celebrating all of their accomplishments. Above all, his greatest pleasure was spending time with, and enjoying his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly (Carbin) Hanratty, whom he married April 12, 1969.

He is also survived by his son, Michael Hanratty; his daughter, Christine (Steve) Allison; five grandchildren, Sydney and Cameron Hanratty, and Nolan, Brody and Becca Allison; three siblings, Frank (Margie) Hanratty, Sue DiTullio and Bernadette Liebler; as well as a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Ty Hanratty; and his brother, Jim Hanratty.

His love and keen sense of humor will live on in all of us. He will be greatly missed, and our fond memories will sustain us.

HANRATTY — Family and friends of J. Vincent “Vince” Hanratty, who died Saturday, May 8, 2021, will gather from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice, or to the Butler Area Public Library, 218 North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001.
