Karen L. Dufford

Karen L. Dufford

Karen L. Dufford of Cabot, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Betty (Miller) Kobik of Cabot, and the late John Kobik Sr.

Karen lived most of her life in Cabot, and was a member of Pentecostals of Oakmont, where she was very active.

Karen was a hairstylist and worked at Hair Etc. by Denise and Co., for 30 years. She loved being a hair stylist and loved her customers.

She loved to fish with her husband, Ed, car shows, the outdoors and loved spending time with her mom.

Karen touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met. She was selfless, and thought about others before herself. She always made people laugh, and had a heart of gold. She was loved by many, and she had a special place in her heart for her family.

She loved family gatherings, and although she was not a mother herself, she took her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She was a great woman of God, and her faith was unshakeable and unstoppable.

Along with her mother, survivors include her husband of 21 years, Edward L. Dufford Jr.; her siblings, John Kobik of Saxonburg, Dennis (Beverly) Kobik of Sarver, Larry (Sherri) Kobik of Cherry Valley, and Jeanie (Richard) Layhew of Natrona Heights.

Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Miller; her niece, Lauren Layhew; her sister-in-law, Carol Kobik; her brother-in-law, John Dufford; and her sister-in-law, Karen A. (Dufford) Clifford.
