John McMillin
It is with unbridled sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Timothy McMillin, 26, on Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021.
John was born on Aug. 9, 1994, the son of John R. (Jack) McMillin Jr. of Zelienople, and Beth Miles of Laurel, Del.
John was a thoughtful and discerning reader, well beyond his high school level of education. He acquired friendships easily and kept them through the years, friends who will most surely miss the pleasure of his company.
John was an accomplished Scrabble player, who routinely defeated his aunt, his uncle and his dad in that challenging board game.
John loved the outdoors, fishing in Delaware’s Nanticoke River, and helping at his dad’s small farm outside of Slippery Rock.
John had worked in the roofing industry.
John loved the companionship of the family dogs, Bonnie and Clyde. He enjoyed the solace of playing his guitar quietly alone. He said he found comfort and support from daily prayer and reflection.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sister, Rebecca McMillin of Wilmington, Del.; his aunt, Deborah McMillin of Sarasota, Fla.; his aunt and uncle, Paula McMillin McCracken and Robert McCracken of Sarasota, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Carol and Daniel Schreffler of Seaford, Del.; his aunt and uncle, Danni Schreffler and Rori Lee Washington of Charlottesville, Va.; his aunt and uncle, Katie and Eric Hiller and their two children, of Georgetown, Del.; and his aunt and uncle, Lys and Robert Busch of Alexandria, Va.
