College planning workshop offered
Armco Credit Union will host a free college planning workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Mars branch, located at the intersection of Route 228 and Myoma Road. The public is welcome to attend.
The free, interactive workshop will cover topics such as how to compare colleges, evaluate post-graduation salaries and interpret financing options.
The workshop will most benefit families of students graduating in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
“This is not your average college planning workshop,” said Michele Jurysta, Armco spokeswoman. “This is a unique opportunity that will show parents and students how to research the 'financial fit' of a college as it relates to their personal circumstances.”
By partnering with Edmit, a digital college financial advising platform, Jurysta said the event will provide families with financial guidance.
“They will walk away from the workshop with a variety of free resources to determine if a particular college and major are worth the cost,” Jurysta said.
Space is limited. For more information, visit ArmcoCU.com.
Armco Credit Union awarded $22,000 in scholarships this year. It is the second largest credit union in the Pittsburgh area, with $400 million in assets and 30,000 members.
