Jeep Invasion kicks off annual festival June 11

The Jeep Invasion on June 11 in downtown Butler will kick off the 10th annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival.

The Friends of the Bantam Jeep Association said the Jeep Invasion will begin at 4 p.m. with a parade on Main Street. Parking of all vehicles, including Jeeps, will be prohibited on Main Street and portions of streets and alleys adjacent to Main Street after 2 p.m. Main Street, Jefferson Street and Cunningham Street will close at 3 p.m.

More than 1,000 Jeeps will park along Main Street, Cunningham and Jefferson streets after the parade. DJs will play music and food vendors will offer treats for event attendees.

Route 8 North regular traffic will be diverted to the left lane of Route 8 just before Airport Road and will be directed to Hansen Avenue.

The Main Street detour will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Main Street traffic will be diverted to Washington and McKean Streets. After the invasion ends, the streets will reopen at 10 p.m.
