Ruth McCullough
Ruth A. McCullough, 71, of Karns City, Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, April 30, 2021, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born Oct. 13, 1949, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and June Rose Burkey Young.
She was a 1968 graduate of Pine-Richland High School.
Ruth was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora, and was a well-known dedicated Girl Scout leader for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed car cruises with her husband, and showing off their 1973 Corvette Stingray. Ruth most especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She is survived by her husband, David E. McCullough, whom she married April 22, 1972, in Gibsonia; two daughters, Melissa A. Burkhouse and her husband, Richard, of East Brady, and Melinda Jeffers and her husband, William, of Cowansville; five grandchildren, Cody A. Davis, Chelsea M. Thompson and her husband, Nicholas, Makayla L. Jeffers, Mackenzie R. Jeffers and Mackenna M. Jeffers; two great-grandsons, Jackson and Alexander Thompson; a sister, Beverly Ray of Valencia; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Meade and Ruth McCullough.
MCCULLOUGH — Friends of Ruth A. McCullough, who died Friday, April 30, 2021, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery in the Village of Kepples Corners.
