Ethel Slaughenhoupt

Ethel V. Slaughenhoupt, 79, of Petrolia, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2021, at Chicora Medical Center of natural causes.

Born in Argentine, Butler County, on July 10, 1941, she was daughter of the late Lee E. and Vivian M. Young.

She was married to William Lee Slaughenhoupt on Dec. 18, 1970, and he passed away Dec. 9, 2000. Ethel was Protestant by faith and very loving and devoted to her family.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandy (Donald) Ulisky of Rancho Mirage, Calif., Sharon (Rick) Barclay-Black of Kittanning, and Stacie (Sam) Williams of Bruin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews; one sister, Connie Emery of Michigan; and two brothers, Gary (Shirley) Young of Ridgeville and Donald E. (Andrea) Young of Parker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Mills.

Slaughenhoupt — Visitation for Ethel V. Slaughenhoupt, who died Saturday, April 24, 2021, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be held at 8 p.m.

Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eau Claire Cemetery.

For visitation, masks should be worn and social distancing observed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, of which Ethel was a longtime supporter.
