Authorities identify body found in exploded car
A 53-year-old Cranberry Township man named Mark Jenks died of smoke inhalation and burns on Friday when a car he was in exploded in a parking lot, according to the Butler County Coroner.
Authorities pronounced Jenks dead in the car after the fire and explosion were reported at 5:06 p.m. on Friday in the parking lot of Red Robin on Route 228. Emergency responders remained at the scene until just before 10 p.m.
Jenks' manner of death remains unknown, pending an investigation being conducted by the Cranberry Township Police with the assistance of state police. Cranberry Township police couldn't be reached for comment and state police deferred to the township.
