The number of new COVID-19 cases in the county and state remains low, and the number of people hospitalized continues to decrease.

Three new cases were reported Tuesday in the county and 906 across the state, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Those numbers raise the total number of people who have contracted the coronavirus since the pandemic began to 11,087 in the county and 1,197,468 statewide. About 28,623 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.

Of the 1,230 people hospitalized across the state, 295 are in intensive care. The 14-day average number of people hospitalized per day is decreasing. Hospitalization peaked in May 2020 with 2,751 patients.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 71,629 cases among residents 15,330 among employees. Of the deaths in the state, 13,258 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

No new deaths were reported in the county Tuesday, but the 42 reported statewide brings the total to 27,085.

The department also reported that 79,521 people in the county are fully vaccinated and 14,422 are partially vaccinated.

Statewide, 4,518,470 people are fully vaccinated and 1,600,154 people are partially vaccinated. A total of 10,261,761 doses have been administered, including 6,118,624 first and single doses and 4,143,137 second doses.

Butler Health System is encouraging everybody 12 and older to walk in or register for a vaccination at its clinics at the Clearview Mall and Clarion Hospital. People can register for a vaccination appointment through the BHS website www.butlerhealthsystem.org.
