Man, 25, killed in Route 68 crash
Speed and failure to wear a seat belt were factors in a fatal Thursday night crash in Oakland Township.
State police said Christopher D. Wright, 25, of Saxonburg, was driving south on Route 68 at 9:42 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve.
The police report said the 2018 Dodge Charger driven by Wright left the road, hit an embankment, two utility poles, a wooden fence and a brick-and-mortar pillar at 816 Chicora Road.
The car came to rest upside down facing north, police said.
Wright was partially ejected from the car through the rear driver side window.
Larry Barr, deputy county coroner, said on Friday that Wright suffered multiple blunt force trauma in the crash, which was the cause of death.
Barr also said the Charger was severely mangled.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to his obituary, Wright was a 2014 Knoch High School graduate who was self-employed.
He enjoyed traveling, music and pets.
Nearby neighbors reported being without power from the time of the crash until about 5 a.m. because of the shearing of the utility poles.
