Sandra Anne “Sandy” Kline, 78, of State College died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at home.

Born Sept. 13, 1942, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Gerald J. Gutshall and M. Margaret (Crain) Gutshall, who survives. On May 29, 1965, she married David A. Kline.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is also survived by three children, David Cory Kline and his wife, Sonja, of Woodbridge, Va., Gregory T. Kline and his wife, Betzi, of State College, and M. LeAnne Kline-Christiansen and her husband, Steen, of Aalborg, Denmark; four siblings, Cheryl McDonald and her husband, Michael, of Kansas City, Mo., Erro Gutshall and his wife, Swee, of Altoona, Vernon Gutshall and his wife, Susie, of Hollidaysburg, and Timothy Gutshall and his wife, Stacy, of Altoona; and six grandchildren, Brittany, Rhett, Bradley, Ellen-Sophia, Abigayle and David.

Sandy graduated from Altoona High School in 1960 and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Penn State University in 1964. She received a master’s degree in counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary in 1998, which allowed her to work as a self-employed biblical counselor.

She was a member of Oakwood Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and Essence 2 Gospel Choir. She served as a board member for three years for the Pregnancy Resource Clinic in State College.

She has coordinated Women’s Ministries in Military Chapels and churches in which she has served in Pocono Mountains and State College. She has been a retreat speaker and teacher of Bible studies in these venues as well.

KLINE — Visitation for Sandra Anne “Sandy” Kline, who died Saturday, April 17, 2021, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at KOCH FUNERAL HOME, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Oakwood Presbyterian Church, 1865 Waddle Road, State College, with Pastor Daniel Kiehl officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery of State College.
