Scavenger hunt in Harmony, Zelie

Harmony and Zelienople historical societies have just the ticket for an escape to small-town America.

The Hunt for History Scavenger Hunt, a self-paced hunt running Friday through June 13, will give families a fun activity to enjoy in an afternoon, finding the 20 required destinations in the hunt and enjoyment at restaurants and shops in both Harmony and Zelienople.

Participants are eligible for discounts at participating restaurants, and those who complete the scavenger hunt will be entered in a drawing for a grand-prize basket. Those interested will have to purchase a Hunt for History booklet, which serves as a scorecard and provides special discounts.

The cost to participate is $20 per family or for a four-person group. Booklets can be purchased at both historical societies. Harmony Museum Shop, 222 Mercer Street, is open 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday; Zelienople Historical Society, 243 S. Main St., is open 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Booklets can also be purchased online at http://harmonymuseum.org.
