Couple suing neighbor for hatchet attack awarded $550K

Postreich, 74, was sentenced to nine months to 20 months in jail followed by 64 months of probation for attacking his neighbor, Russell Callenberg, with a rusty hatchet and stun gun while wearing a Halloween-style mask as Callenber was mowing his lawn on Oct. 18, 2017.The Callenbergs sued Postreich for physical and emotional trauma, and on May 5, Judge S. Michael Yeager awarded the couple $550,000 after finding Postreich had an “evil motive or reckless indifference.”
