Kenneth Rieger

Kenneth R. Rieger, 75, of Valencia, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Born April 3, 1945, in Butler, he was the son of the late Roy Valentine Rieger and Thelma Madeline Billman Rieger.

Ken was a faithful member of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church in Butler for over 25 years, and a 49-year member of the William H. Miller 769 F&AM Lodge. He belonged to the Greater Cranberry Barbershop Chorus for eight years, and the Bogmeister Men’s Chorus.

Ken graduated from Knoch High School in 1963, and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1971.

He was employed by Associates Finance Company, automobile and truck lender, for two years, Pittsburgh National Bank as an internal auditor for five years, Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh as AVP and supervisory agent for nine years, and as director for Pittsburgh Home Savings Bank (First Commonwealth Bank) for eight years. He was the co-founder and investment adviser for G & R Investment Consultants for 30 years, and owner of Rieger Property Management for 24 years.

Ken played high school basketball and baseball and enjoyed coaching church basketball and community baseball. He excelled in financial consulting and personal investing and was involved in rental property management for 24 years. Ken also enjoyed landscaping his personal property and barbershop singing. He loved going boating with his wife, Diana, and, above all, making family memories.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 56 years, Diana Campbell Rieger, whom he married Sept. 24, 1965; his four sons, Eric C. Rieger (Jennifer) of Evans City, K. Scott Rieger (Stephanie) of Upper St. Clair, Aaron D. Rieger (Dena) of Valencia, and Steven B. Rieger (Stacey) of Butler; his 12 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; his sister-in-law, Marylou Rieger, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Weston Rieger, who passed away on Oct. 21, 2017.

Rieger — Family of Kenneth R. Rieger, who died Friday, March 26, 2021, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Chris Marshall and the Rev. Stephen Gutridge officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ken’s honor to Glade Run Church and the Hillman Cancer Center.
