Stella Hepler
Stella Theresa Hepler, 102, of Butler passed away early Sunday morning due to natural causes in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law.
Stella was born on March 30, 1918, in Butler, the daughter of Franklin and Maria (Achezynska) Marchinoski.During the Depression years of the 1930s, she moved from Butler to the largely Polish Hamtramck area of Detroit, to find work with a parts manufacturer for the automotive industry, returning to Butler near the end of the decade, and giving birth to her daughter, Patricia.Stella was a dedicated and lifelong member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church.Stella grew up on Butler's Southside, where she later worked as a school crossing guard during the 1950s and 1960s. She also worked at Sunnyview Nursing Home as a housekeeping supervisor.Stella was a competitive and active woman, and she participated in women's softball and bowling leagues. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo biweekly.Stella was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and family could always find her watching a game and talking to the TV when the games were on. She was an intelligent, devoted and independent woman, who will be missed by many.Stella is survived by her daughter, Patricia (James) Galbreath of Butler; her stepsister, Josephine Nemith of Butler; her grandsons, Eric (Heather) Galbreath of Butler, and Greg (Jackie) Galbreath of Oakland, Calif.; and her great-granddaughters, Hannah Galbreath of Butler, Olivia Galbreath of Butler, and Aviana Galbreath of Oakland, Calif.HEPLER — Visitation and funeral services are private for Stella Theresa Hepler, who died Sunday, March 14, 2021.Arrangements are being completed by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
