Doris L. McCall
Doris L. McCall, 96, of Cabot went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
She was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Jefferson County, to Raymond Gahagen and Mildred Himes.
Her husband, Nick McCall, preceded her in death by 40 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her older sister, Geraldine Doerr; and her twin sister, Dorothy Fox.
Surviving are her son, Douglas (Linda) McCall of Cabot; two grandchildren, Stacy (Mike) Vernier and Steven (Dana) McCall; and three great-grandchildren, Brooke McCall, Alex Vernier and Luke Vernier.
She is also survived by her niece, Linda, who helped take care of her; and several other nieces and nephews.
Doris was a longtime active member of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver, and a current member of Cabot United Methodist Church.
Doris worked at Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg for 28 years before retiring in 1998.
Doris loved to read, and her favorite book was the Bible. If you walked into her house, she was usually sitting in her chair reading Scripture.
She was a prayer warrior, who prayed on a consistent basis for her family, her friends and her neighbors. She loved them all and was concerned for their life and their salvation.
MCCALL — There will be a private viewing and burial service for Doris L. McCall, who died Sunday, March 14, 2021, and will be officiated by the Rev. Jared Townley of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot.
Interment will be in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
