Clair Armstrong

Clair E. Armstrong, 89, of Cumming, Ga. went to be home with his Lord on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, due to COVID-19. He passed away five years to the day and within the hour of the passing of his beloved wife of 64 years.

Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Oakland Township, he was the son of the late Warren and Freda Armstrong.

Clair was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and saw active duty during the Korean War.He retired from Magnetics (a subdivision of Spang Industries) in East Butler.He was an active member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, and helped to build the present sanctuary on Fared Drive in Butler.He had an easy smile and kind word for everyone he met. For his entire life, he was a loving, gracious and supportive father to his two children. He was an innovator and inventor, who constantly sought to improve the property that he inherited. He was a humble man, who lived his life as a caretaker for both the land he was given and the souls of those that he encountered.Clair is survived by his daughter, Dlynn (Michael) Williams of Cumming, Ga.; his son, Jeffery (Karen) Armstrong of Toccoa, Ga.; one sister, Helen (Chester) Walker of Penrose, Colo.; four granddaughters, Angela, Joelle, Samara and Rachel; as well as two great-granddaughters, Alicea and Salem.Clair was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Clara C. Armstrong; and one granddaughter in infancy.Armstrong — Due to COVID-19, there will be a private ceremony for Clair Armstrong, who died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.He will be laid to rest in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery alongside generations of those in his family.Arrangements were handled by McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Dr., Cumming, Ga.Condolences may be expressed at www.mcdonaldandson.com.
