Charlotte Peirsel

Charlotte K. “Charlie” Peirsel, 67, of Meadville, died at home surrounded by her family Sunday, March 7, 2021.

She was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Butler, a daughter of Charles K. and Ethel M. Bachman Crider. She married Paul E. Peirsel M.D. Sept. 29, 1978, and he survives.

She was a graduate of Knoch High School and the Butler Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a registered nurse, first at Somerset Hospital, and then for more than 20 years at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was proud of the Charlie’s Angels nursing scholarship that is awarded annually at Wesbury in her honor.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as deacon.

She was always hard working, and enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Paul; five children, Wendy Chavez (Randy) of Dallas, Texas, April Kretchman (Tim) of Meyersdale, Pa., Matthew Peirsel of Phoenixville, Pa., Mark Peirsel (Melanie) of Meadville and Luke Peirsel (Dana) of Pittsburgh; 12 grandchildren, Chantelle Ankeny (Joshua), Noah Ansell, Conner Chavez, Carter Chavez, Tim Kretchman, Emily Sayler, Elizabeth Sayler, Joshua Kretchman, Sydney Peirsel, Owen Peirsel, Evelyn Peirsel and Logan Peirsel; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Ankeny and Charlotte Rhenlee Ankeny; four sisters, Mary Davison (Bob) of Atlanta, Ga., Wendy McCoy (Dale) of Philadelphia, Louise Crider of Houston, Texas, and Tracy Zdilla (Jerry) of Butler; two brothers, Bruce Crider (Anna) of Butler and Lew Crider (Rosie) of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Crider.

PEIRSEL — Calling hours for Charlotte K. “Charlie” Peirsel, who died Sunday, March 7, 2021, will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville.

The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, pastor officiating. Masking and social distancing per CDC guidelines will be followed.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335, or Charlie’s Angels Scholarship, c/o The Wesbury Foundation, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, PA 16335.
