Jean Marie George, 96, of Spring Church, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.

Born March 23, 1924, in Clarion, she was the daughter of Clyde P. Hedrick and June Knopp Hedrick.

Jean was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed church activities and often played the piano for Sunday services. Jean raised her family in Penn Township where she was very active at Brownsdale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed family and friends, reading, playing games and playing the piano.

Surviving are her children, David George of Spring Church, Pa., Joan George of San Diego, Calif., and Ross George of Spring Church, Pa.; her grandchildren, Katie Palas and Dylan George; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Nolan Palas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. George on July 31, 2013, whom she married in 1945; and her son, Gary George, who was a casualty in the Vietnam War in 1969.

George — There will not be any services at this time for Jean Marie George, who died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.

Interment will follow in the Brownsdale Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
