Donald L. “Goldie” Gould

Donald L. “Goldie” Gould, 85, of Meridian went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, with his wife and best friend, Corinne Thomas Gould, by his side after being diagnosed with cancer.

Don was born Aug. 2, 1935, in Butler, and was the son of the late Charles P. Gould and Frances M. (Hilliard) Gould.

He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army.

Don retired after 40 years from Armco.

He enjoyed bowling and “carrying on with the guys” at the numerous social clubs he was a member of.

Along with his wife, Corinne, Don is survived by a daughter, Linda (Tom) Smith; four grandchildren, his very special one, Sarah (Paul) Crawford and their daughter, Zoey, of Ohio, Katie (Todd) Shultz, Becky (Austin) Balm, and Bill (Jennifer) Smith, and three great-grandchildren, all of Butler.

He is also survived by his special sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and David Forshey, and one other sister and two brothers; his special sister-in-law, Val-Dean (Randy) Scott, and his special nieces and nephew, Shannon and Ryan Stevenson, Brittany Scott and Brandi Scott, and his great-niece and great-nephews, Hadley, Case, Jimi and Axl (his pool buddies); his brothers-in-law, Fred (Terri) Thomas Jr. of North Carolina, and Devin (Cindy) Thomas of Ellwood City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley A. Gould; his son, Gregory A. Gould; one sister; and his father-in-law, Fred Thomas.
