Jack Francis Allen

Jack Francis Allen, 90, of Lowrie Place, Stirling Village in Butler, and formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021.

Jack was born on June 6, 1930, in Butler, to Francis Clyde Allen and Harriet Emma Heath Allen.

He married Mildred Elaine Conner on May 12, 1953, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2002.

Jack graduated from Butler High School, and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean conflict, before being honorably discharged.Jack retired from Armco in Butler.He loved boating and water skiing.He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, F&AM Lodge 603 in Grove City, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle.Survivors include his sister, Harriet Allen Etchison of Charlotte, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his brothers, Gary and Terry Allen.ALLEN — The family of Jack Francis Allen, who died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Kail, pastor of the Muddy Creek EPC presiding.Interment will be held following the service Monday in Slippery Rock Cemetery, where full military honors will be observed.
