Della M. Vaughn

Della M. Vaughn, 97, of Zelienople, formerly of Butler, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at Passavant Retirement Community.

Born April 8, 1923, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Hilda Eichenlaub Moniot.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

Della was also a member of Armco Country Club, and St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers. She was a past president of the Women’s Auxiliary of Passavant Retirement Community.

She is survived by one son, Wesley C. Vaughn and his wife, Eileen “Tyke,” of Meridian; one daughter, Mary Ann Ratkus and her husband, Robert, of Port Huron, Mich.; one brother, James Moniot of Virginia Beach, Va.; her son-in-law, Richard Ross of Linwood, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Sean Ratkus and his wife, Lauren, Derek Ratkus, Zachary Ratkus, Chris Smith and her husband, Jerry, John Ross and his wife, Nanette, Alan Vaughn and his wife, Sarah, and Jennifer Ann Vaughn-Weaver and her spouse, Allison; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. “Arky” Vaughn Sr., who passed away Nov. 27, 2002; one daughter, Joyce Ross; one infant son, Charles Vaughn Jr.; and her sister, Eva Sleigher.

VAUGHN — There will be no visitation for Della M. Vaughn, who died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.

Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, Butler.
