Robert Panko
Robert L. Panko, 83, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at his residence.
Born Jan. 3, 1938, he was a son of the late John and Sophie (Kozlowski) Panko.
Robert worked for Butler Armco in the Slab Mill Maintenance Dept. for 40 years. He retired in 1996.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife and camping. He was also a member of the NRA.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen “Kay” Panko whom he married November 4, 1961; his four children, Robert (Kristin) Panko, Jr. of Virginia, Michael (Marie) Panko of Butler, Cheryl (Scott) Carter of Florida and Patricia (Larry) LaRue of Georgia; Six grandchildren, Jeffrey Panko, Josh (Tiffany) Panko, Sarah (Greg) DeVore, Christopher Panko, Linzie LaRue and Buddie LaRue; and his great-grandchildren, Emma Panko and Ben DeVore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine “Cookie” Salak.
Panko — Friends of Robert L. Panko, who died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, will be received from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
Due to current mandates and restrictions, everybody is required to wear facial covering and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
