Mary Schubert

Mary E. Schubert, 97 of Chicora, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Nov. 7, 1923, and the only child of Earl David and Mary Duffy Shaw.

Mary graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1942. She married Fred R. Schubert in 1943. They were married 53 years before his passing in 1996.

Mary worked at many jobs and retired in 1985 from Revco Drug Store. She then worked as a senior aide at United Way and the Art Center. She was active in her church and especially enjoyed the ministry of Alliance Women at Faith Fellowship.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn “Kay” (Doug) Kent of Hamilton, Mont., Nancy (Edward) Weber of Chicora, and Sandra (Mark) Douglas of Oceanside, Calif. as well as 12 grandchildren and many great and great- great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lou Jolene Brewer; and a son-in-law, Chester E. Brewer, both of Rocky Ford, Colo.

Schubert — Friends of Mary E. Schubert, who died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, corner of Main and East Slippery Rock St., Chicora, and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Fared Way, Butler, officiated by the Rev. Richard Jenks.

Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Shippenville, Pa.
