None hurt after domestic incident involving guns

Guns were allegedly involved in a domestic incident Sunday morning among members of a Sarver family.

Christopher Rennick, 29, and his stepfather, David Rzepinski, 61, were arrested and charged after allegedly having guns in hand while arguing in the hallway of their family home.

No one was injured.

Rennick was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond with the added condition that he have no contact with Rzepinski.Rzepinski was taken to Butler County Prison and is being held in lieu of $25,000 cash bond.According to charging documents, the two were arguing in a hallway while Rzepinski was holding a 12-gauge shotgun.“Christopher Rennick related that when he saw his stepfather standing in the hallway with the gun, he drew his pistol from his holster and pointed it at his stepfather,” said the investigating officer in his affidavit.According to documents, Rennick had a .40-caliber Sig Sauer P228.The documents state Kimberly Rzepinski, who is Rennick's mother and Rzepinski's wife, exited the bathroom during the altercation, which put her in the middle of the two gun-wielding men.Police said Kimberly Rzepinski saw David Rzepinski pointing a shotgun at her son and called police.“Kimberly also stated that at some point while she was intervening in the altercation, David also pointed the shotgun at her too,” said the officer in the affidavit.According to documents, David Rzepinski claimed he only raised the shotgun to show that it was unloaded, and at all other points in the argument the shotgun was pointed at the floor.The affidavit did not explain why Rzepinski had a shotgun and why Rennick had a holstered pistol in the home.Rennick has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. March 3 before District Judge Sue Haggerty, which will be followed by Rzepinski's preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m.
