Joyce Cooper
Joyce Cooper, 84, of Butler, formerly of Hooker, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at New Haven Court after a long period of declining health.
Born Jan. 15, 1937, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lula Mae Sutton Starr.
She was a graduate of the former Hooker High School, and had served nearly 30 years at Moniteau as a food service manager. She also served at Meals on Wheels in Boyers for more than 20 years.
Joyce was a lifelong member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker, and was baptized at this church as an infant. She served as an elder and deacon, and was a member of the choir.
Surviving are three daughters, Heather Uhl of Butler, Heidi “Chip” Brunst of Pleasantville, and Piper (Jeff) Cratty of Oxford, Pa.; and two sons, Jeffrey D. (Val) of Butler, and Scott S. (Dawn) of Cape May, N.J.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean Cooper, whom she was married to from May 27, 1955, to May 27, 1989.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory; and a grandchild.
COOPER — A limited visitation for Joyce Cooper, who died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
A private burial will be held Monday at Concord Cemetery.
Arrangements were made with H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home of Eau Claire.
