Charles F. Schott
Charles F. “Fritz” Schott, 81, of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Born March 31, 1939, in Lancaster Township, Fritz was the son of the late John Schott and Margaret Kress Schott.
Fritz worked his way through school and earned his beautician’s license while working at the original Kaufman House in Zelienople. He was the beloved owner and operator of Fritz’s Beauty Corner in Zelienople for 56 years.
Fritz was a faithful member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople. He also was a member of the Lancaster Township Historical Society and a lifetime member of both the Zelienople Volunteer Fire Department and the Zelienople Fire Police.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play a variety of sports, including football, baseball, lacrosse and soccer. Fritz also loved to garden and cut grass, and also enjoyed decorating and cooking. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, who will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Carrie Schott Greathouse, Lorrie Conley and Cindie (Bob) Kolarich, all of Zelienople; his six grandchildren, John Conley, Courtney Buckley, Clinton Greathouse, Juston Kolarich, Auston Kolarich and Kyle Kolarich; his three great-grandchildren, Darryn Conley, John Conley IV and Scarlett Conley; and his niece and nephew, Krista (Kurt) Novak and Jonathan (Debbie) Neely.
In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Palley Schott, whom he married on April 11, 1959, and who passed away on March 1, 2019; and his sister, Stella Audean Schott Neely.
SCHOTT — A private family visitation for Charles F. “Fritz” Schott, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, will be held at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A public Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. John P. Gallagher officiating.
Fritz will be laid to rest with Kathy at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lancaster Township.
