CCR helping older residents schedule COVID vaccinations

Beginning Friday, the Butler County Center for Community Resources will assist county residents who are age 65 or older who don't have access to a computer with scheduling COVID-19 vaccinations at Butler Memorial Hospital.

The Butler Area Agency on Aging will no longer schedule vaccinations at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Anyone who has called the Area Agency on Aging already to schedule an appointment does not need to reach out to the Center for Community Resources.

Members of the community can contact the Center for Community Resources from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-888-550-7468. Butler Memorial Hospital currently provides vaccinations for health care workers and people 65 or older who live in Butler County as vaccine availability from the state allows. The Pennsylvania Department of Health has again changed its distribution process, and vaccine supply and availability remains unpredictable, the hospital said. Information about COVID-19 vaccine scheduling is available at www.butlerhealthsystem.org.

Scheduling help is currently only available for those 65 and older. Once enough vaccines are available to expand vaccination groups, Butler County Center for Community Resources will be the contact point for scheduling help for those who do not have access or knowledge in technology.
