Marian J. Neff

Marian J. Neff, 75, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, in Butler Memorial Hospital after a short illness because of complications from COVID-19.

She was born Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1945, in Seybertown, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Robert Peters and the late June Sipes Peters.

Marian worked many years for Chicora Elementary School. After retiring from there, she worked for Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, where she was laundress, taught Sunday school and was a eucharistic minister. She enjoyed singing, and was a member of the church choir. She also enjoyed gardening and socializing, but her family was the true light of her life.

She married Wendell Neff on Nov. 6, 1971. He died on Sept. 8, 2011.

Marian is survived by six sons: Michael Robinson of Robinson Township; Sean and Sherry Robinson of Apache, Okla.; W. Allen and Rebecca Neff of Chandler, Ariz.; Scott and Beth Neff of Pittsburgh; Jason and Dana Neff of Erie; and Aaron and Heather Neff of Manassas, Va.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Burnette of Texas and Carolyn Magle of Natrona Heights; and two brothers, Robert and Joan Peters of Sharpsville, Pa., and Allen and Kathy Peters of Rimersburg, Pa.

NEFF — Friends of Marian J. Neff, who died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with Father Matthew McClain officiating.

A private interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Chicora.
