A Butler man was arrested Thursday after authorities searched his home and allegedly found 422 stamp bags of heroin.

The Butler County Drug Task Force conducted the search warrant and arrested Tyrone Riddick, 58, who has been charged with felony possession with intent to sell and another drug-related misdemeanor.

Riddick was arraigned Friday morning by District Judge David Kovach. He is being held in Butler County Prison with bail set at $50,000.According to charging documents, task force members entered the home at about 8 p.m. with a search warrant for Riddick's home on Negley Avenue.“All occupants were detained and transported to the Butler City Police station,” police reports said. The two other people in the home during the search were not charged as of Friday afternoon.According to the documents, the task force allegedly found 422 blue, double-sealed stamp bags of suspected heroin with the label “LAKERS” on them, as well as four cell phones, one scale and more than $1,900 in cash. The amount of heroin has an estimated value of about $3,800, according to Timothy Fennell, coordinator and chief detective for the task force. The documents said after reaching the station, Riddick agreed to an interview with the task force.“During the interview, T. Riddick did state that he was purchasing about 5 to 10 bricks of heroin and then selling it for profit,” according to charging documents.Fennell said the task force had been investigating for a little more than a month into Riddick's alleged drug dealing from his home.According to court records, a date for his preliminary hearing had not yet been set, but it will be before District Judge William Fullerton.
